Dear Lyon Families,
As we prepare to welcome students for the 2026-2027 school year, we want to share our arrival and dismissal procedures to ensure a safe, orderly, and efficient process for all students and families. Your partnership in following these expectations is essential to maintaining a safe environment during the busiest times of the school day.
Student supervision begins each morning at 8:10 a.m. Students should not arrive before this time, as staff are not available to provide supervision prior to 8:10 a.m. All students, including those who will be eating breakfast at school, should be dropped off at the designated arrival area on the blacktop outside of Doors 6 and 7. Families should park on a nearby side street and walk their child to the arrival area. Beginning at 8:10 a.m., supervising staff will direct students who are eating breakfast to enter the building. Students who are not eating breakfast will remain in the designated arrival area under staff supervision until 8:20 a.m., when supervising staff will direct them into the building to proceed to their classrooms.
During afternoon dismissal, families picking up students should park on one of the surrounding side streets and walk to the Parent Pick-Up area located outside of Doors 6 and 7. Students will be released directly to their parent or approved guardian. After meeting their child, families are expected to walk together back to their vehicle.
To ensure the safety of all students, students are not permitted to walk through parking lots or cross streets without being accompanied by a parent or approved guardian. We ask that all families use sidewalks and designated walking routes and follow the directions of Lyon staff during arrival and dismissal. Your cooperation helps us maintain a safe environment for all students, staff, and families.

Join us from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at our new location, McCall Elementary School and Bevier Park, for free backpacks and school supplies, community resources, food trucks, a petting zoo, kids activities, haircuts, and more.
